A Personal Letter to my Lipedema Sisters

I’m no different than you. I’ve lived with lipedema since puberty: Stage 1, Type 1.

I still remember one of my first memories of realizing something was “off”:
my jeans would always wear thin in the middle from walking, and at school I was teased for having a big butt.

It cut me so deeply. I’m highly sensitive and incredibly empathetic.

For a long time, I struggled to let other people’s opinions bounce off me. And it showed in my behavior.
I pushed and punished myself, trying anything to “fix” my lipedema areas. I did low‑carb and keto. I ate every other day - sometimes nothing at all - until the cravings hit and I’d swing to out‑of‑control cheat days. Then the shame would flood in, and I’d turn that hate on myself.

I was heavier than ever, even though I was working out more than I ever had. I was so strict, doing everything “right,” and those saddlebags, that butt, kept getting bigger. I reached a point where I thought, I can’t do this anymore.

With every new diet, my symptoms got worse. Despite intense training and countless plans, nothing worked. I was desperate and ready to give up - but something in me said: No!
There has to be a way.

In 2016, I decided everything had to change. The first thing I did was stop listening to people who didn’t have my problem.

People giving advice who didn’t live with lipedema.

Mostly men. Fitness coaches. Even women who were already super slim and athletic. No issues. They could eat anything and still look amazing.

I realized, I can’t take advice from you. You don’t know what it feels like to live in this body or the mental load that comes with it. You can’t understand the full weight of lipedema.

Not just physically, but emotionally. The constant burden. So I turned to what I’d learned in my biology studies and went deep into research. I buried myself in books and studies, took countless trainings, and I became my own experiment.

I told myself, there has to be a way. I tested so many things until I finally found what actually worked.

By 2017, I thought, this might be it. I’d said that a dozen times before — but this time, it was real.

Within weeks, my saddlebags practically melted away.

I was blown away. I never imagined results like that after fighting for so long.

Suddenly, it all made sense, and I could start to heal - physically and mentally.

The pain I experienced with lipedema taught me so much. I don’t look at my body with anger anymore.

I used to think I had to diet and fight.

But nothing could be further from the truth.

Please believe me when I say: your body is on your side. It is not your enemy. Your body wants to be lean and healthy.

You simply need to stop putting obstacles in its way. It will do the rest on its own.

Since then, I’ve helped hundreds of women walk this path. Without low‑carb or harsh, restrictive diets.
